Envision Scott is accepting applications for six seats on the Board of Directors. Applications close at 11:59 PM on Thursday, October 1, 2026.
One of our three board groups comes up for reappointment or replacement each fall, and that group's terms end this year. Any member in good standing is eligible, including current directors whose terms are expiring. Terms run three years.
This is a working board. Directors attend at least 9 of our 12 monthly meetings and serve on at least two committees. If you want a hand in what happens in Scott over the next three years, this is the way in.
No login needed, and it takes about ten minutes. Trouble with the form? Email chamber@envisionscott.com or call 337.294.0551 and we'll make sure your application gets in before the deadline.
On Friday, August 28, 2026, Envision Scott and the Scott Business Association signed a Letter of Intent. The Scott Business Association board adopted the letter earlier in August, and the signing formally opened an exploration period between our two organizations.
What it means. The Letter of Intent is non-binding. It's an agreement to talk, to open our books to each other in good faith, and to find out whether the two organizations are stronger together than apart. The exploration period runs through December 31, 2027.
What it does not mean. Nothing is merged. Governance, branding, membership structure, dues, programming and finances are all still open questions, and every one of them has to be worked through. Any actual merger would require a separate agreement, ratified independently by both organizations, and members would hear about it long before it happened.
We'll keep you posted as this moves. If you have questions or concerns, email chamber@envisionscott.com or call the chamber.

Details →This year's Vision Scott Leadership class is into the final stretch. Recent sessions have taken the class to Baton Rouge and Arnaudville and put a full day into infrastructure and public safety.
The class also toured the Louisiana State Penitentiary at Angola and sat down with men serving sentences there. It isn't a comfortable day, and it isn't meant to be. Hearing directly from people inside the system does more to shape how a leader thinks about second chances, reentry and the real cost of incarceration than any presentation could.
That's the point of Vision Scott: putting emerging leaders directly in front of the people who run the systems, and the people those systems affect.
The class graduates on Wednesday, October 14, at the Scott Business Appreciation Dinner.
Louisiana Small Business Development Center, Acadiana Region
No-cost, confidential one-on-one business consulting, plus a free training calendar covering access to capital, financial management, accounting, marketing, sales, AI, legal considerations and business planning. The Acadiana center serves our parish, and there is no catch. It's funded through the U.S. Small Business Administration, Louisiana Economic Development and the host universities.
If you're weighing an expansion, a loan application, or a first hire, this is the phone call to make before you make the decision, not after.
